HoloSport partnered with KYMA for its inaugural event on October 3, 2026, at the Marina Olympique de Marseille, France. The outdoor competition brought together open-water swimming, running and functional fitness, with the KYMA SWIM format placing swimming at the heart of a hybrid race.

The partnership reflects HoloSport’s roots in swimming and its broader focus on AR and AI sports technology.

Open-Water Swimming Meets Functional Fitness

KYMA SWIM combined eight 100-meter swims in the Mediterranean with eight functional stations inspired by HYROX. Competitors moved between the water and exercises including sled pushes, sled pulls, rowing, loaded carries and wall balls.

The repeated transitions gave the event a different rhythm from a continuous open-water swim. Each swim leg followed a physical effort on shore, bringing strength and swimming endurance into the same race.

KYMA also offered running and shorter sprint formats at the marina, which hosted sailing during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Supporting Swimming in a New Race Format

In its partnership announcement, KYMA highlighted HoloSport’s connection to aquatic sports and the relevance of the collaboration to its SWIM format.

Swimming is where HoloSport began developing sports technology. Today, our work spans in-goggle data displays, underwater audio, heart-rate monitoring and training software, with the aim of making useful information accessible during movement.

Supporting KYMA’s first edition brought that focus to an event combining several kinds of physical effort. It also gave HoloSport a place in a new sporting initiative that introduced open-water swimming to the hybrid fitness race format.
