FAQs

All HoloSport prescription swim goggles come with a 30-day swim trial, a two-year warranty, and no subscription fees.

1. What Are Prescription Swim Goggles?

Prescription swim goggles are designed to help nearsighted swimmers see more clearly underwater without wearing regular glasses. HoloSport offers two types of prescription swimming goggles: HoloSwim 3 Pro and SollaWave feature built-in prescription lenses, while HoloSwim 2 Pro and HoloSwim 2S support attachable myopia lens inserts that fit inside the goggles. Both options help swimmers enjoy clearer vision in the pool, with selected models offering smart features for training.

For HoloSwim 2 Pro and HoloSwim 2S, you can shop HoloSport myopia lens inserts to add prescription correction to your compatible goggles.

2. Which HoloSport prescription swim goggles should I choose?

Choose according to where and how you swim:

  • HoloSwim 3 Pro: Designed for pool training, open-water swimming and triathlon training. It features an in-goggle display, built-in GPS, compass navigation and integrated custom prescription lenses.
  • SollaWave: Designed primarily for pool swimmers who want prescription lenses, underwater music and spoken workout updates.
  • HoloSwim 2 Pro: Designed for performance-focused pool swimmers who want real-time data displayed in the goggles.
  • HoloSwim 2S: An accessible option for swimmers who want essential real-time pool data.

HoloSwim 3 Pro and SollaWave offer powers from −2.00D to −6.00D. HoloSwim 2 Pro and HoloSwim 2S support clip-in prescription lenses from −3.00D to −8.00D.

3. How do I choose the right prescription power?

Start with a current distance-vision prescription and check the SPH (sphere) value for each eye. Prescription swim goggles are generally selected about 0.50D weaker than your regular glasses prescription.

Use the following guide:

  • Without astigmatism: reduce the strength of your glasses prescription by 0.50D.
  • With astigmatism: add half of the CYL value to the SPH value, then select a power that is 0.50D weaker.

For example:

SPH −4.00D and CYL −1.00D
−4.00 + (−1.00 ÷ 2) = −4.50D
After reducing the correction by 0.50D, select approximately −4.00D.

If the calculated result falls between the available whole-number powers, choose the weaker available power. For example, if the result is −3.50D, select −3.00D.

This formula is a general guide for selecting spherical prescription swim goggles. If you have significant astigmatism, a complex prescription or are unsure about the calculation, consult your optometrist or optician before ordering.

For more guidance, read our guide to swimming with myopia and choosing prescription goggles.

4. What do OD and OS mean when ordering prescription goggles?

OD refers to your right eye, while OS refers to your left eye.

When ordering HoloSwim 3 Pro custom prescription goggles, select the right-eye power under OD and the left-eye power under OS. Check both selections carefully before adding the goggles to your cart.

5. Can I choose a different prescription power for each eye?

Yes. Both HoloSwim 3 Pro and SollaWave can be customized with a different power for each eye.

For HoloSwim 3 Pro, select separate OD and OS powers directly on the product page. Available powers range from −2.00D to −6.00D in whole-number increments.

For SollaWave, place your order and leave a note specifying the required left-eye and right-eye powers. Separate powers are available from −2.00D to −6.00D in whole-number increments.

The prescription lenses are integrated directly into the goggles, so you do not need to purchase two pairs or exchange the lenses yourself.

6. How long do custom prescription goggles take to arrive?

HoloSwim 3 Pro and SollaWave goggles with separate left- and right-eye powers are made to order. Please allow approximately 30 days for production and delivery.

Check both eye powers carefully before placing your order:

  • HoloSwim 3 Pro: Select the OD and OS powers on the product page.
  • SollaWave: Add the required left- and right-eye powers to your order note.

Estimated delivery times may vary slightly by destination.

7. Can HoloSport prescription swim goggles correct astigmatism?

Current HoloSport prescription lenses provide spherical correction for myopia. They do not provide individualized CYL and AXIS correction.

The general power-selection formula can account for part of the CYL value when estimating a spherical equivalent, but it does not replace customized astigmatism correction. If you have significant astigmatism or a complex prescription, consult your optometrist or optician before ordering.

8. Can I use my contact-lens prescription to order swim goggles?

A contact-lens prescription and a glasses prescription may contain different values, so they should not automatically be treated as interchangeable.

Use a current distance-vision prescription and consult your optometrist or optician if you are uncertain which spherical power to select.

9. Can prescription swim goggles be used instead of contact lenses?

Prescription lenses provide vision correction directly through the goggles, so you do not have to rely on contact lenses for clearer vision in the water.

They are useful for swimmers who normally wear glasses and want to see lane markings, pace clocks, pool walls, buoys and landmarks more clearly while swimming.

10. Can I use HoloSport prescription goggles in both the pool and open water?

This depends on the model.

HoloSwim 3 Pro is designed specifically for both pool and open-water swimming. Its built-in GPS, electronic compass and route navigation work without requiring a connected sports watch. Custom prescription lenses can also help nearsighted swimmers see buoys and landmarks more clearly.

HoloSwim 2 Pro and HoloSwim 2S can also be used in open water. To access GPS-based route information, they must be paired with a compatible Garmin or another supported sports watch.

SollaWave is primarily designed for pool swimming.

Check each product page before ordering to confirm the supported swimming environments, compatible devices and available features.

11. Are HoloSport prescription swim goggles anti-fog?

Yes. HoloSport smart swim goggles use TÜV-certified nano anti-fog technology, tested to maintain clarity after 10,000 wipes.

Proper care is still important. Avoid touching or rubbing the inside of the lenses unnecessarily and follow the cleaning instructions supplied with your goggles.

12. Are prescription swim goggles suitable for long-distance swimming?

A stable and comfortable fit is especially important during longer sessions. Adjust the nose bridge and head strap so that the goggles form a secure, leak-resistant seal without placing excessive pressure around the eyes.

Fit varies by face shape, so test the seal and make any necessary adjustments before beginning a long pool or open-water swim.

13. What smart features are available with prescription HoloSwim 3 Pro goggles?

Prescription HoloSwim 3 Pro goggles provide the same smart features as the standard-lens version, including:

  • Real-time in-goggle swim data
  • Pool and open-water tracking
  • Built-in GPS and electronic compass
  • Route navigation
  • Custom pool training plans
  • Water temperature and real-time depth
  • Post-swim analysis in the HoloSport App
  • Optional real-time heart rate when paired with HandPlus B2

No subscription is required to access the core features.

14. Which HoloSwim 3 Pro lens color should I choose?

Choose according to your primary swimming environment:

  • Sunset Orange: Better suited to bright outdoor conditions and open-water swimming. This color supports the Custom Prescription option.
  • Ocean Green: Better suited to indoor pools and lower-light conditions. It is currently available with standard lenses only.

If you require prescription HoloSwim 3 Pro goggles, select Sunset Orange → Custom Prescription on the product page.
