Elizabeth Swims Brings Music to the Pool: A SollaWave Underwater Test

Elizabeth has been swimming since she was a baby. Music is another part of her everyday life, but until now, the two rarely came together.

Regular headphones were not a practical way to listen underwater. Poolside speakers could be hard to hear, and the music was not always what she wanted to listen to. Without her own soundtrack, swimming could sometimes feel like another stretch of staring at the pool floor and repeating the same strokes.

For this session, Elizabeth and her younger brother, Isaac, took SollaWave smart swim goggles with swimming headphones into the pool. They tried the underwater audio and shared their impressions of the earbuds, the fit around their eyes and the spoken time updates.

A New Favorite for the Pool

Elizabeth says she usually listens to music for about half the day. After trying SollaWave, she calls them her new favorite goggles. When Isaac jokes about combining her listening time with her swimming time, she responds that she can now listen all day.

Their reactions are enthusiastic, but they also find the experience difficult to put into words:

“You need to try them.”

Listening Beneath the Surface

Elizabeth and Isaac enjoy hearing their music underwater, and their conversation includes praise for the sound quality while swimming.

Elizabeth also talks about relaxing beneath the surface with audio and suggests listening to a book underwater. It is another way she imagines using the goggles, alongside her music.

A Spoken Update Every Half Hour

During the session, they also notice a time announcement every half hour.

The occasional spoken update gives them a time reference alongside their music, without having to stop and check a clock.

Comfort Around the Eyes

The fit gets their attention too. Elizabeth and Isaac discuss how the seal wraps around the face, with one observation summing up the comfort:

“It doesn’t dig into your eyes.”

They also appreciate the overall quality. Early in the video, they discuss how products with a novelty feature can disappoint in everyday use. Their first impressions of SollaWave are positive about both the goggles and the audio experience.

Who Might Relate to Their Experience?

Elizabeth and Isaac’s pool session may feel familiar to swimmers who:

  • Get bored during repetitive pool sessions.
  • Listen to music throughout the day and want to bring it into their swims.
  • Prefer a relaxed, recreational swimming experience.
  • Want goggles and underwater headphones in one device.
  • Appreciate simple spoken updates while swimming.
  • Want something to look forward to during longer sets.

For swimmers who prefer quiet, or need to keep listening to a coach and their surroundings, underwater music may be less of a priority.

For Elizabeth and Isaac, the appeal is clear: enjoying their own audio while spending time in the pool.
